If we look back far enough, the real and only mother country is Africa.
At least if we speculate to the point where we first because humans.
If we go back further, the idea of mother country and nation is meaningless, we evolved from creatures that were alive before Pangaea had split into the islands and continents we recognise today.
An era long before territorial claims, national borders and grid squares.

And a problem of religion is having stories and passages that were perhaps intended to be allegorical, but this being unclear.
